I am sure that some of you have been dragged into the everyday drama that I called my life, and I just thought that I would give a general update on what has been happened in the past few weeks besides falling off the face of the earth!
Well, my conference in Montreal was a blast and I was able to see all my old friends from Sudbury and catch up with the Jones's. I also just found out that my manuscript (extracted from my thesis) was accepted by the Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and so I am working on the revisions before I am officially published... obviously really excited about that.
Saint John has had a weather turn for the best.... I was beginning to fell a little gipped on the whole it is winter and there is no snow thing, but I am eating my words now... the past few days we have gotten plenty of snow and the wind chill is approaching -40 Celcius.
Things are a wee bit rocky with the PhD right now as I am finding it difficult to see the light down a 4 year long tunnel. But I am sure that I will figure it all out... we are meant to not work before we are 30 right??
Anyways, just wanted to post something to let everyone know that I am alive and kicking!!
Last night's festivities began at 8pm along the harbor front of Saint John New Brunswick where Stewart and I, along side other fellow grad students, watched a fantastic display of fireworks. We then made our way to The Reversing Falls restaurant where we enjoyed a wonderful seafood meal along with admiring the brilliant display of night lights along the shore. After stuffing ourselves, we enjoyed a moon lit walk through Queen Square at Midnight, and then finished the festivities at Leslie and Collin's apartment enjoying great food, champagne, and dancing to Justin Timberlake. All in all, it was a great way to ring in the new year!
