In preperation for the Kdubpalooza show next week I treated my bass to a new set of strings. The set of DR Strings in the guague I wanted were out of stock all over town, so I thought I'd give DR Strings' Extra Life set a try (they only come in the gauge I like). They're coated strings so they've got a really thin coating to keep them from getting all gunked up and losing their tone as fast as regular strings. I don't have acidic persperiation, so I've never bothered with coated strings before. So why try them out now? I really wanted to try DR Strings and instead of the usual, boring beige coatings I've seen on strings, DR makes theirs in black, blue, and red. And what do they label the red set? "Red Devils". That was just too fun to not buy. I also think the red goes well with the koa side panels on my base quite nicely.
The Languid Lotus Project will be performing again this Wednesday, December 27th. Come on out to help pass the time during the lull between Xmas and New Year's. I'll be there.
Well the show was a blast. Any set that involves jamming out tracks to accommodate guest artists is fine by me. Rabble Rouser put on a great show. I like to think that The Languid Lotus Project did all right. And of course Charlena finished up with a great set.
In case anyone was wondering (or dreading) the return of the long sweater with a belt, it's back! The 20 year clothing cycle continues.
