Yup, the Languid Lotus Project (LLP) is going to be playing at The Boathouse tonight in Kitchener. This marks the first time that the 3 founding members will share the same stage in over a year. Here's the official promo from the keyboard of Amber:
Tired of the everyday hum drum of wearing the same old corporate face? Feeling like tossing on some jeans, losing the heels and handsome grease? Thirsty for pops with percentages and famished for decadent foodbits?
The Languid Lotus Project is performing it's last show of 2006 tonight at the Boathouse.
Taking the stage, a reunion of the original 3, *A*, Kat and Jason, joined with Charlena Russell and Shakespeare on a variety of funky instrumentals, with a set list of yes, song, poetry and prose... All original, by the originals...
Old favorites like 'Morning Walk to Work' with Jason's sly bass and the addition of violins or flutes... I said, 'pardon?!?!'
You heard right!
Winner of the Matt Osbourne Award, this year, performing special guests on Rogers Daytime, early in the New Year, published works in circulated books (julia's third leg is the latest and greatest...) the Languid Lotus Project is polished and glimmering with it's newly rejuvenated sultry sound, along with the die hard attitude you've become accustomed to.
Focus tonight is on song. It's on kicking back and allowing ourselves to 'just be'...
Surround yourself with friends and fine sounds, the show starts @ around 9:30ish and the cover is cheaper than a five to seven minute conversation over a gin and tonic. The Boathouse in Victoria Park is K- Dub's sweetest music house, promising great acoustics and fond memories of the languid conception...
Please try and make it out, Rabble Rouzer @ 10ish, LLP and Charlena to follow... Proceeds to CKMS Radio Waterloo, home of Lotus Quotes - 2006's favorite creative spoken word show and best local talent show... Give to a good cause, lets get those vibes out there!!!
The stars don't just shine in the heavens above...
